Beech Grove, Indiana

Younglove constructed Contract No. 6 for ADM’s new flour milling plant in Beech Grove, Indiana. This portion of the project consisted of a slipform mill tower to house the bulk plant storage bins and miscellaneous equipment. This structure employed rounded corners in the bins and trowel finishing inside of the bins as the slipform process progressed. A portion of the plant was used for blending bins, and a portion was used for rail and truck loadout bins.
Younglove performed structural concrete work for boot pits, railroad track scale, footings and foundation work, all slipform concrete, approximately 120 tons of structural steel used for the rail scale enclosure, roof penthouse, stair tower enclosure, and small equipment lean-to. The structural steel was skinned with a two-inch-thick metal insulated panel. The exterior of the bulk plant was covered with a two-inch foam Dryvit system. In addition, Younglove supplied and installed the belt manlift.
