Cagle’s-Keystone Feed Mill

This feed manufacturing facility was constructed at an abandoned ethanol plant. The site was selected by the Owner to take advantage of the existing grain silos, boiler room, grinding room, and warehouse.
The mill tower was strategically placed to take advantage of all the above structures, plus optimize traffic flow for inbound ingredients and outbound feed trucks.
This plant features pre-grind hammermills at 110-ton capacity; 26 ingredient bins for a total of 3,000-ton capacity; an 8-ton batching and mixing system, including a 20-bin microsystem; liquids added to the mixer via mass flow meters; a post-mix grinding system rated at 110 tons per hour; and two pelleting lines at 50 tons per hour each initially with room for one future pelleting line at 50 tons per hour, for a total capacity of 150 tons per hour for all three lines. Downstream fat coating utilizes an impact scale by Milltronics, and distribution to 24 feed bins is via a screw conveyor and distributor. Finished feed capacity is 2,100 tons.
The loadout system features a loadout platform truck scale with shuttle conveyor system and gathering collecting conveyor. Loadout capacity is at 300 tons per hour.
The layout will facilitate adding grain storage silos without interrupting the feed milling operation.
